Research Statement:
I want to use my knowledge in applied mathematics, physics, and engineering to solve real world mechanical problems and failures. I am interested in leveraging advanced technologies and AI-enabled models to better understand why systems fail and how to optimize them better. My background is in applied and theoretical engineering, and I'm very interested in sustainable management of natural resource use of private industries. During my time with the Summer Authentic Research Experience (SARE), I investigated environmental factors and energy usage that drive water withdrawal ad different individual Meta Data Centers.
Research Impact:
As generative AI scales rapidly, data center energy and water demand place growing pressure on local resources. To address this problem, our team analyzed Meta's public environmental data reports using Python and AI to quantify resource consumption. By modeling factors like regional climate and electricity usage at individual data centers, our research provides critical insight to help policymakers make evidence-based decisions to protect local resource supplies.
