Research Statement:
I was interested in researching topics related to chemistry and computer science. The project I joined is researching degradation of PFAS using cold atmospheric pressure plasma. This incorporates my interest in technology around chemistry as well as coding elements to present the data.
Research Impact:
We've been studying a novel cold plasma device that could be scaled much more easily than other devices. Once scaled, the device could be used to degrade PFAS in our water systems. Boise PFAS levels are currently hovering around unsafe levels with other cities not reporting levels.
