Dennis Stevens

Dennis Stevens is the chief of Infectious Diseases at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. Dr. Stevens investigates virulence mechanisms in highly pathogenic bacteria such as group A streptococcus, staphylococcus aureas, and clostridia. He is also chairman of the Higher Education Research Council. Dr. Stevens is a consultant to the Centers for Disease Control on severe Group A streptococcal infections. He has received the Infectious Disease Society of America’s Society Citation Award for his work with bacterial pathogens. Dr. Stevens received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Utah College of Medicine, Salt Lake City, Utah; conducted his internship and residency at the University of Utah Medical Center, Salt Lake City, Utah; and his fellowship at the Department of Medicine, Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
